The Flywheels are a high-energy band who have a deep love for old time and early bluegrass music.They draw deep from both of those wells, and throw in a honky tonk number to round things out every once in a while. The band consists of Sam Schmidt (Interlaken, NY) on the hot fiddle, Liz Pickard (Truxton, NY) laying down the rhythm guitar, Jason Zorn (Ithaca, NY) on the doghouse bass, and Cap Cooke (Ithaca, NY) picking the banjo. Everybody also sings, and they pride themselves on good, catchy, harmonized songs in addition to super-danceable fiddle music and an engaging stage show.
