In late 2018 Jackson Cavalier formed a new backing band by the name of The Mt. Vernon Two, a play on Johnny Cash’s “Tennessee Two”. Consisting of Matthias Galley on lead guitar, and Katie Morey on electric bass, the band played a handful of shows before Will Westveer took over on the bass in the summer of 2019. The band plays off of Jackson’s one man band style, filling out the sonic country western, and folk soundscape with the addition of twinkling guitar and low down bass. The group plays Jackson’s original music as well as covers by Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, CCR, John Prine, and many more.
